What We Encountered

Before we began our work, it was clear that these mats were in dire need of attention. Years of use had left them looking dull and grimy. As we assessed the situation, we noticed that body oils were deeply embedded in the fibers along with strands of hair from countless practices. During our initial inspection, I remember one of the coaches saying, “I can’t believe how long it’s been since we last cleaned these! It’s about time we took care of them.” This sentiment echoed throughout the team as they recognized the importance of maintaining their equipment.

What we did

Before starting the cleaning process, we moved all equipment off the mats and conducted a thorough inspection. This allowed us to identify any areas requiring special attention.

As we worked through each mat, we focused on restoring their vibrant colors while sanitizing them thoroughly. The steam penetrated deep into the fibers, breaking down years of grime and lifting away embedded oils and hair. It was rewarding to see how much cleaner each mat became as we progressed through our process.
